On April 25, 2016, Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council came to visit Sichuan University. The premier inspected the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering in Sichuan University, focusing on the school's scientific and technological innovation and the cooperation among industry, universities and research institutes.
On the first floor of the building, Premier Li Keqiang paid close attention to the important scientific and technological achievements exhibition of independent innovation in schools and learned about the major breakthroughs in scientific and technological achievements independently developed by Sichuan University, such as graphene pre-dispersed rubber nanocomposites manufactured by the world's leading latex mixing, in situ reduce technology. Chengdu Trustwell New Materials Co., Ltd. established a long-term cooperative relationship with Sichuan University Institute of Polymer Science. In 2015, it undertook the graphene dispersion technology from Sichuan University and has successfully applied the technology to industrialized production. At the beginning of the year, the Trustwell® graphene rubber pre-dispersed master batch produced by this technology was exhibited at the Hannover Tire Technology Expo in Germany, it solved the problem of difficult dispersion and easy agglomeration of graphene, opening the door to the rubber reinforcement application.
